Summer

It always takes me a while to get into a new routine. With the kids out for summer, we've had to adjust to each other again. The kids' rooms are starting to be more organized and we are adjusting to mealtimes and snack times. I really do love summer. I love having the kids at home.

Emma is taking her Introduction To Technology class in the summer. It is a mandatory class but it's only one semester so she wanted to get it out of the way so she could take something else. She really wants to take a dramatic arts class. She's my artsy one, that's for sure. She is really involved in library programs this summer. Last year, they put on a puppet show for the little ones. She had a ball and they asked her to do it again this year. She is also involved in Reader's Theater. The librarian involved in those projects has become such a mentor and friend to Emma in the last few years. She is very artsy too and they just click. Emma is also involved in helping out with the children's ministries at church. The Wednesday night clubs are having a special Journey to China thing this summer to coincide with the Summer Olympics. This Wednesday, they are pretending to fly to China and the Jr. high kids are taking rolls like flight attendants and such. Everyone is having such a good time. In July, we will be involved in VBS too.

Mary Rose is my little helper. My shadow. She has such a good attitude about getting things done, usually. Yesterday, she "helped" me shell peas. By "help", I mean she ate quite a lot of peas, lol. Our garden is doing really well right now so she likes to check on it with me and pull weeds. Sometimes we find very interesting things there. Sunday we found a big fat toad. We haven't seen him since though. Our pool is up and Mary Rose is definately a fish. That is one of her favorite things to do. We usually do that in the late afternoon or evening. When she's not in the pool in the evening, she's running and adventuring with a neighbor boy. Summertime is so fun and it goes so fast.
